The legend of Moab continues!

We’re on a mission to save America!  It couldn‘t be more important than that.

We’ve received intelligence that you need to know about.

Via a leaked e-mail from a high ranking government official the Russians learned that Moab is a uranium hot spot.  Based on this information they sent a spy drone to survey the Moab area. Fortunately for us the drone crashed in the area.  Our job is to locate what remains of the drone. 


This year’s event will be military mission themed.  Collectively we’ll be the ‘Moab Militia’.

Every day we’ll receive our ‘orders’ for the day.  Every group will have a mission based on scouting intelligence.  We’ll get our orders, our communication channels, a lat/long and some clues to help us locate metallic objects out on the trails.  Our hope is that once these items are collected we’ll be able to assemble them into the Russian spy drone.  Of course we’ll be having our usual great time out on the incredible trails that define the Moab area and make Moab the top of everyone’s bucket list.

We plan on running trails that the Hummer Club hasn’t run for some time – or maybe even ever.  Normally we have our pre-event in Durango, Colorado but this year we’re going to run the pre-event in Moab.  During the pre-event we’ll run the usual trails like Hell’s Revenge and Moab Rim.  Keeping with the theme of the event, we’ll call these ‘scouting days’.

Pre-event Description

Pre-event wheeling (scouting) in the Moab area: Sept. 22, 23 and 24.  We’ll run legendary Moab trails like Hells Revenge and Moab Rim.

We’ll run trails on Friday the 22nd, Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th.


Here’s the 411 for the Main Event


Main Event Description

On Sept. 24th, we’ll gather for our Welcome Dinner and Trail signups at 7:00pm in Rotary Park in Moab.  We’ll have vendor displays and a buffet style tailgate dinner – with incredible food from The Blu Pig.  Yum!

Once in Moab our mission really takes off!

We plan on running trails that are seldom run by the club or that haven’t been run for a few years.  We’ll run trails on Monday the 25th, Tuesday the 26rd, Wednesday the 27th and Thursday the 28th.

On the evening of Sept. 28th we’ll have our awards dinner and banquet.  This banquet is becoming legendary!  Delicious food, great folks and great times.  It really is a lot of fun.

We may have a few extra things planned like a night run but we’ll see how things work out in the months to come.

Some Notable Information

·       All Hummer branded vehicles and Humvees are welcome. Your truck MUST be street legal to access the trails.

·       Driver’s meeting each morning at the departure point. Be fueled up and have a lunch packed each trail day. Also bring extra water and some extra snacks. We try to be back for dinner in town but please be prepared for a long day.

·       A CB for communication is required. 

·       Be certain that your truck is well maintained and that it is in good operational condition.

·       Be prepared for long trail days, you never know what might happen ‘out there’!

·       Unfortunately there’s an obstacle (Mirror Gulch) that just hates H2 tie-rods. You’ll only be allowed on this trail in an H2 if you carry at least one spare tie-rod. It’s difficult and there’s no bypass. It’s just the configuration of the rocks and the particular dimensions of an H2’s front end that make it difficult on H2 tie-rods.   We may not run Metal Masher so this is just a heads up.

·       Bring a spare tire.

Mechanical Support
As with all Hummer Club events, we will be self-supporting. Of course you will have the assistance of other members should anyone have any issues, but plan on being as prepared as possible with a few common spare parts (halfshafts, upper and lower ball joint, idler and pitman recommended) and required tools.

Cancellations & Refunds:
We realize that unexpected events such as work conflicts, mechanical problems and illnesses may cause you to cancel your trip. However, we have many business partners that we pay deposits based on a preliminary participant count, therefore in order to limit the impact of cancellations the following penalties apply to your refund should you choose to cancel:

Days Prior to Trip Date: Penalty
Reservation to 21 days: $35 or *
20 days to 8 day: 50%
7 days to 1 day: 80%
Trip date and beyond: NO REFUND

* Should you choose to transfer from one trip to another trip in the SAME calendar year you may do so for $35 per transfer.

Mechanical Support is provided at all major Club events
At Major events the event coordinator and other club members will support any needed repairs to the best of their ability so everyone can fully participate and get home afterwards. We will work to the best of our ability to support you. Your truck must be in excellent mechanical condition due to the nature of these events. Basic hand tools and spare parts on-hand and/or parts that wear when off-roading we suggest you carry. Contact the event coordinator if you have questions about mechanical support and/or what to bring.
