The Hummer Club, Inc. is returning to Harlan Kentucky on March 25th and 26th for 2 fun filled days on the trails. Come Join fellow club members at the Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area. Black Mountain is located in the heart of Coal Country. The park has over 7,000 acres of mountainous terrain, elevations up to 3,300 feet and 150 miles of trails.  The park also has a Zip Line for those of you who might be interested in riding on one of our off road days.  The park website is www.blackmountainoffroad.com

The event hotel will be the Quality Inn and reservations can be made by calling (606) 573-3385. When making your reservations, tell them you are with the Hummer Club. The hotel has a free hot breakfast. Camping is also available through the Harlan County Campground. The Quality Inn is located at 2608 South Highway 421 Harlan, KY, US, 40831 Phone: (606) 573-3385.

Check in between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm on the evening of March 24th to get your event shirt and sign registration forms .

We will begin each day by meeting at the hotel around 8:00 and head out to the trails.  On Thursday we will all need to register our trucks at the park office and pay the $35.00 per truck fee for the two days on the trails.

Mechanical support for the trucks will be provided by fellow club members. Spare parts are always welcome.

Registration fees will include a Saturday evening diner and event shirt. All registered, including children, will get the event shirt. ORV Park Fees are separate and will need to be paid upon entering the park.

Club members are always allowed to bring guests that are not club members as passengers in their Hummer. For this event, club members will also be allowed to sponsor one guest that is not a club member that can drive a Hummer or non-Hummer 4x4 vehicle.  This driver and vehicle must remain in the same group as the sponsoring club member who will be responsible for their conduct.  This guest and vehicle must follow the same rules as club members.  Fee's for the sponsored guest and vehicle are the same as club members and can be paid at registration on Thursday evening at the hotel.  Please note, that members can sponsor only one extra driver and vehicle.

Important Notes:

  • Drivers meeting each morning in the rear parking lot of the hotel.
  • All trucks should be fueled and prepared to leave for the trails without having to make any extra stops.
  • Be sure to pack lunch and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Some extra snacks and a lawn chair for sitting when we lunch on the trail would be a plus.
  • A CB for communication is required – and makes the event more fun and easier.  Inform your trail leader if you do not have CB communication.
  • Be certain that your truck is well maintained and that it is in good operational condition. Bring likely spare parts and tools if you have them.
  • Be prepared for long trail days (food, water, fuel, clothing), you never know what might happen.

Fees:

At Major events the event coordinator and other club members will support any needed repairs to the best of their ability so everyone can fully participate and get home afterwards. We will work to the best of our ability to support you. Your truck must be in excellent mechanical condition due to the nature of these events. Basic hand tools and spare parts on-hand and/or parts that wear when off-roading we suggest you carry.
